The Shag Harbour UFO Crash

A strange event took place in 1967 and would put the small fishing village of Shag Harbour in the spotlight and have its name ingraved into UFO history forever. Shag Harbour is located at the southern tip of Nova Scotia and is a rural community. The Shag Harbour case is one of the best documented UFO cases in 30 years. The fishing village had always had its stories of giant sea serpents, man-eating squid and ghost ships and a new story of the strange was about to be added to the list.
The first showing of a mysterious event would come from local residents who would notice strange orange lights in the sky on the night of October 4th 1967 most witnesses agreed that there were four orange lights flying over that evening. Then five teenagers watched these lights fash in sequence and then make a sudden movement toward the water's surface. All witnesses were surprosed that the lights did not dive into the water but instead they seemed to float on top of the water a half mile away from the shore. The witnesses first thought they were viewing a horrible aircrash and they were quick to report the incident to the Royal Canadian Mounted Police which was located at Barrington Passage. RCMP Constavle Ron Pound had already witnessed te starnge lights jimself as he drove down highway 3 on route to Shag Harbour. Pound felt he was seeing 4 lights all attached to one flying craft he estimated the craft to be around 60 feet long. The very next day the Rescue Coordination Centre filed a report with Canadian Forces HQ in Ottawa the reported stated that something of "Unknown Origin" had crashed into Shag Harbour. The HMCS Granby was ordered to Shag Harbour where divers searched the bottom of the ocean for many days but did not return with posotive results. The strange tale died as quickly as it had occured until 1993. As the story faded away from newscasts and from newspapers several theories were put forward. One explaination that spread around was that the craft was in fact a Russian Spacecraft which would explain the presense of a Russian Submarine in the area at the time.

The incident was then investigated and brought back to life by the efforts of MUFON Investigator Chris Styles the case interested him so much that he decided to search for some more details. Styles found out the names of many of the original witnesses by searching through newspaper reports. And Styles was then able to interview many of them he was assisted by MUFON Investigator Doug Ledger. The two men would uncover some compelling evidence through their interviews they discovered that when the divers of the Granby finished their work the case was not over after all the divers along with other witnesses related to the Shag Harbour events. It is said that the object that crashed into Shag Harbour left that area as soon as it got there travelling 25 miles to a place called "Government Point" which was near a submarine detection base. The object was spotted on sonar there, the Naval vessels were positioned over it and after a couple of days the military was planning a salvage operation when the second UFO of the incident joined with the first. A believe at the time and now is that the over UFO had come to help his fallen team mate. When this occured the Navy made the decision to wait and watch and after around one week of watching the two UFO's some of the vessels were called to investigate a Russian submarine which had entered Canadian waters at this point the two underwater objects made their move. They made their way to the Gulf of Maine and putting distance between themselves and the chasing Navy boats they broke out of the waters surface and shot off into the sky. These amazing events were corroborated by many witnesses both being civlian and also military. These reports were given off-record and Ex-Military personnel feared the loss of their pensions and civilians feared ridicule and also their privacy being invaded.
There is no doubt that something strange went on at Shag Harbour back in 1967 but what crashed into the harbour was it some sort of Military test or was it something Non-Terrestrial?
