RAF Boulmer Incident - 1977

A strange occurrence of a UFO near RAF Boulmer was hushed up by the MOD for many years until now under the Freedom of Information act the incident of 1977 can be released which details strange bright objects changing speed spotted by an RAF pilot over the North Sea and other staff of the RAF base. The MOD stored all information related to this sighting as a “possible extra terrestrial contact” department known only by the code name SF4.
It all began in July 1977 when flight lieutenant AM wood reported seeing the objects saying the nearest was luminous, round and four to five times the size of a Whirlwind helicopter. The two UFO’s were hovering at a height of around 5,000 feet and were three miles out to sea. His report was backed by those made by Corporal Torrington and Sergeant Graham who said the objects parted with one going west and changing shape as it went. The objects one of which looking body shaped were watched by the three RAF men for one hour and 40 minutes. A radar station picked up the objects on radar before they vanished.
This case was deemed very sensitive and instead of files related to this incident being released 25 years later as they should do they would not let it be released until 28 years later on January 1st 2005 this is not the only case hushed up by the MOD reports of fighter jets being scrambled in 1978 when British Airways pilots reported a strange cigar shaped craft. It further shows how the MOD does not like to release files of incidents involving very credible witnesses.
