Pilot Encounters Unknown, Craft over Alaska November 17th 1986
He told the two journalists that on November 17th 1986 he was the chief pilot on JAL flight 1628 the Boeing-747 was going from Narita and was bound for Paris there was a scheduled stop on the way which took then to Keflavik, Iceland and a second schedule stop that took then to Anchorage, Alaska. At 5:10pm (local time) the plane was flying at an altitude of 34,000 feet over Alaska it was dusk but not quite dark yet. It was then that Terauchi reported two belts of light that appeared 600 metres the aircraft he reported that he checked with Anchorage control tower but they said nothing was showing up on there radar screens. Terauchi was positive that something was emitting the lights and whatever it was it seemed to be very interested in the jumbo because it adjusted its speed to match with the plane. The pilot said it was “like they were toying with us”. The events above reportedly went on for seven minutes or so after these few minutes there was then some kind of reverse thrust and the lights became extremely bright. Terauchi stated that the entire cockpit was illuminated by this amazing light. Another interesting detail the pilot mentioned was that the Unknown craft was flying as if gravity had no effect he reported that the craft had the craft sped up then stopped, then flew at the airplanes speed. Next the craft instantly changed course and Terauchi stated the following - “There's no way a jumbo could fly like that. If we tried, it'd break apart in mid-air. In other words, the flying object had overcome gravity."
Terauchi’s Co-pilot Takanori Tamefuji who witnessed the UFO described the lights as “Christmas assorted” lights with a “salmon” colour. He said the following “I remember red or orange, and white landing light, just like a landing light. And weak green, ah, blinking. He also described the lights as pulsating slowly. They became stronger, became weaker., became stronger, became weaker, different from strobe lights. The lights were "swinging" in unison as if there were "very good formation flight...close" of two aircraft side by side.” Five minutes after those events the object vanished but soon another much largest objects ten times larger than a jumbo jet which itself is 70 metres long appeared bathed in blue light. Again the control tower radar could pick up nothing that the pilot was reporting. Terauchi noticed strange silhouettes over Fairbanks, Alaska it was then that the huge object vanished just like the first. The Boeing-747 landed at 6:24pm and the passengers disembarked the aircraft not knowing what had been occurring at the front of the aircraft. It should be noted that Terauchi is a very respectable pilot who has over 10,000 flying hours it would not be easy for a pilot of his standard to perform such an intense misidentification. After releasing his story to the media he was immediately grounded for talking to the press he was instead given a desk job and did not regain his pilot status until many years afterwards. Terauchi is not 67-years old and retired he now lives in peace with his wife in a small town north of Kanto, Japan and does not talk of his experience all that often. There has been no definitive explanation for what was seen that night, many have tried to pass it off as a planet or light reflecting off of clouds of ice crystals both absolutely impossible scenarios but it just shows how lost for an answer those who investigated this case were that they had to turn to un-realistic ideas as those mentioned above. It is not known what exactly was seen that evening in 1986 but what can be said is that it was something unknown.
