Maryland UFO seen with Occupants - 1952

In August 1952 housewife Mrs. Suzanne E. Knight sighted a UFO at close range and also saw an occupant aboard the craft. At around 9:30pm that hot summers evening she was in her kitchen when she heard a strange buzzing noise the noise was repeated many times and she thought it was some sort of large insect. She went to her window and looked out and she saw an object that was descending rapidly at a 45 degree angle and thought it was an airplane that was going to crash. But instead of an impact the object came hovering in position at a right angle to her approximately half a city block away and about 300 feet above ground level. The mysterious object appeared to Knight to resemble a fuselage of a plane and was a dull silver colour. Something like smoke was coming from the rear of the craft. The side of the object facing her was lined with a number of perfectly square windows and the windows had a brilliant yellow light shining inside. On top and to the very front of the object was a small red light that seemed to extend above the body of the object. On the underside of the UFO was an undercarriage that also contained a row of smaller square windows and was aglow inside with the same yellow. Knight thought she observed what appeared to be a row of cabinets with slanted tops. Knight then said she saw a man in front and was looking straight ahead towards to the front to Mrs. Knights left. She said she couldn’t understand what he was looking at without moving or anything. She thought he was maybe observing instrument panels like on a airplane but she said she only speculated this as she could not see any instruments from her vantage point. She said the yellow glow made everything inside the craft glow the same yellow colour even the man inside was glowing yellow and she remembered the occupant wore a kind of helmet and around his arm and the side of his helmet next to his face there seemed to be a shadow or a dark line of some sort.

Mrs. Knight had watched the object for a minute or so and then decided to leave the window to phone the newspaper but she was unable to get an answer. She then returned to the window and saw the object was still there but the man was no longer there and the undercarriage of the craft was no longer visible. Knight then explained that at that point the lights around the object suddenly went off and the UFO turned from being the dull silver colour a glowing red. It also began to rock back and forth away from her she then started to shout others who were in the house to come and take a look at what she was seeing but while she was looking for her sister the object left the area. The incident had been over a 3 minute period and 2 of those minutes Knight spent observing and examining the object outside her window.

This incident was not report until September1967 when she reported it to NICAP.
